About Slipknot

Slipknot is an American band formed in 1995 in Iowa by bass player Paul Grey,  percussionist Shawn Crahan and drummer Joey Jordison. They are considered to be a “nu metal band” but the band describes their sound as “ metal metal”with very aggressive lyrics, sometimes exploring themes as darkness, anger, psychosis and disaffection. The sound of the band typically features a large percussive section, sampling, keyboards and heavily down tuned guitars together with screaming and growled vocals. Slipknot is influenced by Kiss, Slayer, Deicide, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Pantera and many more.

Their stage performance is one of a kind ; they perform wearing individual, unique face masks and matching uniforms being very chaotic and energetic with stage diving from high balconies and setting band members on fire. Releasing 6 studio album and 2 live ones, Slipknot has sold over 30 million albums worldwide.
