The Cure

About The Cure

The Cure are an English rock/new wave  band formed in 1978 in West Sussex with lead vocalist and song writer Robert Smith as only constant member. Their music style is described as Gothic Rock but Smith doesn’t want to be tagged and says that the band’s music is not categorisable and can be called post-punk. The Cure were one of the first alternative bands having chart and commercial success before alternative music  had broken into mainstream. Recording 13 studio albums, their second one “Seventeen Seconds” with the monster hit “A Forest “is considered to be their best one .
